Build and own the data infrastructure so the business can trust its numbers and build on its data.

Why this role exists

Our client is a funded company whose data has outgrown spreadsheets and ad hoc queries. They need someone to design pipelines, model the data and make sure clean, reliable data is available for analytics, reporting and product. You are the person who makes data trustworthy and usable across the company.

What you'll own

• Data pipelines and ETL or ELT workflows: design, build and maintenance
• Data modeling and structure in the warehouse for analytics and product use
• Data quality, reliability and freshness across all data sources
• Delivery of the data analytics, product and finance teams need
• Pipeline performance and infrastructure cost
• Documentation of the data model, and systems that scale with the company
• Troubleshooting of data issues and pipeline reliability

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of data engineering experience with production pipelines you own
• Strong SQL and Python
• Experience with a modern data warehouse such as Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift
• Hands-on experience with orchestration and transformation tools like dbt or Airflow
• You build reliable, well-documented systems and take pride in code quality
• English C1, written and spoken. You work effectively with US-based teams

Bonus

• Cloud infrastructure experience with AWS, GCP or Azure
• Streaming or real-time data pipeline experience
• Comfortable using AI tools to speed up pipeline development and documentation work

What success looks like

First 90 days

You have mapped the current data landscape, identified bottlenecks and documented the existing pipelines. You have built or improved at least one critical pipeline the business relies on daily, and you collaborate regularly with analytics and product teams and understand their data needs.

Ongoing

The business trusts the data: pipelines run reliably with minimal manual intervention. New data requests are fulfilled quickly because your infrastructure is flexible and well-documented, and you keep optimizing for performance and cost without sacrificing data quality.
