Why this role exists

Our client is a venture studio, and one of the companies in their portfolio is the number one producer of scrapers on Apify. They build and run software startups, plus the internal systems the whole portfolio runs on. The team is small, ships fast and has several products live at once. Some weeks you scale a scraper product with real customers on it, some weeks a new internal tool, some weeks you wire APIs together so the go-to-market team stops doing something by hand.

What you'll own

• Growth and scale of the scraper products running on Apify, in reliability, coverage and revenue
• New products across the portfolio, from database schema through the interface people actually use
• Demand validation before building: ship something small, watch whether it gets used, then commit
• The homegrown systems the businesses already run on
• Third-party API automations that drive go-to-market work: outreach, enrichment and reporting
• Daily work inside AI coding agents, and the standard for how the rest of the team uses them
• PostgreSQL schemas with Prisma, with the data kept clean at volume
• The deploy path through GitHub Actions, including the occasional SSH session into a self-hosted Ubuntu server

What we're looking for

• 2+ years building software, with products shipped end to end, not just tickets
• Startup experience where the job was whatever needed doing that week. You want a number to hit and you go get it
• TypeScript and Node without hesitation, comfortable in React
• Data pulled out of other systems through APIs or scraping, and you know what breaks: rate limits, auth, blocks and dirty data
• You live in Claude Code or Codex, with opinions about where those tools help and where they do not
• Real things you have built outside of work, projects we can open and try, backed by an active GitHub
• You work without supervision and keep a small team in the loop without being asked
• English C1, written and spoken

Bonus

• An Actor published on Apify, or shipped on a similar marketplace
• A product taken from early traction to real scale
• Work inside a venture studio, agency or holding company with several products running at once
• End-to-end tests with Playwright
• Mentoring or managing engineers, or the wish to

What success looks like

First 90 days

You have shipped work to production across at least two different products, made a measurable improvement to one of the scraper products in reliability, coverage or revenue, and replaced at least one manual go-to-market process with an API automation.

Ongoing

You ship on a predictable cadence across several products without dropping threads, test demand on new ideas before the team spends months building them, get real output from the interns under you and help hire the engineers who come next.
