The controller is carrying the whole accounting workload alone. You take it over: receivables, the monthly close and the reconciliations, so the books are right without anyone chasing them.

Why this role exists

Our client is a profitable US home services company, a licensed plumbing and HVAC contractor serving residential and commercial customers. The finance operation runs on ServiceTitan. As the business grows, the controller needs a senior accountant who owns the accounting workload end to end, not just receivables.

What you'll own

• Accounts receivable end to end: invoice review, catching memberships and maintenance agreements that are not billing yet, and calling customers on overdue balances
• The month-end close: journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations, ready on time for the controller's review
• Bank, credit card and general ledger reconciliations
• Payroll processing and payroll reconciliations
• Financial reporting and audit-ready records
• Process improvements with the controller as the business scales

What we're looking for

• 5+ years in accounting, with hands-on ownership of the month-end close
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and experience supporting US-based companies
• Strong across AR and general accounting. You post journal entries, accruals and reconciliations with limited oversight
• Comfortable calling US customers about payments, with a steady, professional tone
• Advanced Excel
• English C2, spoken and written, because this role is on the phone with US customers every day
• Detail-oriented and dependable. You catch errors and follow through on commitments

What success looks like

First 90 days

You are proficient in ServiceTitan and understand the billing and accounting workflow end to end. Accounts receivable is off the controller's plate, with a follow-up system for overdue accounts in place, and you run the month-end close and reconciliations.

Ongoing

The books are accurate and the month closes on time. AR aging stays current, with overdue balances followed up within 5 business days. You are the controller's trusted partner across accounting and payroll, flagging issues early and resolving them on your own.
